Hello!
My name is Heather Andrews and I am a London based Singer-Songwriter.
I
have been singing all my life really but only started writing songs
when I had trained as a Sound Engineer at the University of Surrey. I
was working as an assistant sound engineer in London's Sphere Studios
and writing and singing when I started recording my songs there to get
to know how to use the studio but I soon started feeling more
comfortable in front of the microphone than behind the desk.
I was lucky enough to meet the Grammy winning Producer Narada Michael Walden
(Whitney
Houston, Aretha Franklin, Mariah Carey) when I was there. Amazingly he
really liked my songs! After I left the studio and decided I should do
something with these songs, I gave Narada a call and went over to San
Francisco to record Too Weak to Speak at his Tarpan Studios. The album
had started!
I've
been honing my vocal skills in a function band called OCD while
gradually putting my album together. I think it's fair to say that
stretching myself with all those different covers has influenced my
wide ranging song writing style. Not to mention my stage silliness.
People often say "How can such a big sound come out of such a small
person?". It just does!
So here I am some years later with a great band and an album I'm really pleased with. Huge thanks to the many talented and supportive people who have helped make this happen. I hope you like it too.
